Nature and Humanity, 2015
Acrylics, Pen and Ink on Canvas
50”W x 38”H
Artist Statement
This painting is from the series “Celebration of Life” in which I try to show connection of humanity with nature in celebration together. With my continuous lyrical line, I am hoping to bring together humanity, soil, and soul. I believe in Edward Wilson’s concept of “Biophilia” the word he coined to describe humankind’s deep affinity for nature.
In this painting the moving lines of water trees and skies entangle with gestural human forms and form a unity that brings tranquility.
